State Continuation of Coverage laws vary from state to state. Some are in addition to COBRA while others are only available if COBRA is not applicable. Some are for six months while some can be up to thirty-six months. Some claim extraterritorial jurisdiction and some don’t. Some states have no continuation laws at all.

TSC applies only to fully insured welfare benefit plans.
